Graduation Celebration at April's Guest Chef Dinner with  The Sutter Club!
Please join us on April 5th for a very special Guest Chef Dinner, as we celebrate some of the amazing women who are graduating from our Plates Employment Training Program. These women came to us virtually hopeless, embroiled in addiction, abuse and dependence. Today, they are stable. They are employed. These women who came to us broken are going to cross the stage and walk out the red door, confident and healthy!
Olympian Ruthie Bolto n, our keynote speaker for the evening, w ill share inspiring words for the graduates and program participants who have risen above domestic violence, dependence, and abuse.

All guests will enjoy a delicious menu prepared by The Sutter Club's Executive Chef  Jack  Kalustian,  to o!  Thank you to The Sutter Club for sponsoring the costs of our dinner so that proceeds from the evening will go to the women and children in our program.

This graduation would not be possible without support from our amazing volunteers, donors and Guest Chef Dinner supporters stepping up to help our community. Thank you!
Early Bird tickets available for $45 until March 22.  For more information please visit our events page:

Bridge the Gap Campaign
To maintain our current capacity for 200 women and children who are desperate for a safe and productive place to get their lives on track, and to continue to tackle our daily wait list of 400 women and children, we are asking for your help.
A gift of $130 provides a family full support for 24 hours including housing, drug and alcohol counseling, parenting education, healthy relationship training and childcare.
If 4,300 of our friends give $130 to support one family for one night, we will close the unprecedented funding gap in our operating budget while we work to restore our important partnership with the County.
Above all, it will help us toward our goal of permanently reducing the number of single-mother-led families experiencing homelessness in the Sacramento Region.
The need is immediate. By helping now, you will keep our red doors open to women and children who want to change their lives.
Please consider making a donation of $130 today and sharing this page with your friends, family, work colleagues...anyone and everyone who can help create real change for the women and children of Saint John's!

Woman of the Year Award
Saint John's CEO, Michele Steeb, was honored at the State Capitol on Monday, March 12th, among the 120 Women of the Year who are making a difference throughout California. Assemblymember Ken Cooley from District 8 recognized Michele Steeb for her leadership on behalf of homeless women and children working to break the cycle of poverty.

"Recognizing Michele on this momentous occasion at the Capitol brings me great pride," said Assemblyman Cooley.  "Michele's dedication to assisting our homeless neighbors and providing opportunities for self-improvement truly exemplify the definition of community service."

Agape Feast in Partnership with Eskaton:
Agape means Love
Community, a core value at Saint John's, is important to us all. We are so fortunate to partner with Eskaton so our clients at Saint John's may have the opportunity to give back to the community. For each visit, Saint John's clients will plan and cook a meal and deliver it to an Eskaton location, along with fun  placemats decorated by the children in our Childcare Program. After dinner, the Eskaton residents and Saint John's clients enjoy sharing stories and entertainment. It was a moving evening for everyone, filled with laughter, tears and a true sense of community.
We can't wait to visit again!
