Welcome to the quarterly Tri-Tech Newsletter, your source for all things Tri-Tech! In this edition we will share info about what's new at Tri-Tech, tips to help you be more productive with AIM and Active-e, as well as an employee spotlight and customer kudos.

WHAT'S NEW IN DEVELOPMENT

Temporary Security Override


When an employee needs a security override, a manager no longer has to go to that computer to input their login credentials. When the security prompt comes up, the employee can hit the request button. The manager can be at any computer and go into the Temporary Security Override menu option and approve the security override request. The manager can assign a time duration and that will give the employee X number of minutes to complete their task. Additionally, the manager can use the same Temporary Security Override program to give access to any security option including menu options and reports for a temporary time frame.

The manager can also use the AIM Mobile App to approve or provide a Temporary Security Override. In the future we plan to add push notifications to the AIM Mobile APP. AIM will be able to send a push notification to the manager's mobile device that a Security Override Request is pending.

SUPPORT TIPS

1.   You can display to item count in the POS screen using system variable DisplayItemCountInPOS. This variable controls whether a total item count is displayed in the items grid in point of sale mode. Enter "Y" to show the total quantity. Enter a description of the line item after a | operator, with {QTY} where the total quantity will go. For example Y|Total Qty: {QTY}

 

2.    Did you know....there is an option to see all file attachments

if you click on any attachments button? This makes it helpful so you don't have

to navigate to different areas in AIM to see a particular attachment.

From the desk of Professor Tri-Tech: Year End Matters

 

It's the end of another year, and for many that means it's time for physical inventory counts. Did you know AIM does a number of functions in the background to help make this as easy of a task as possible? While AIM can't actually count the products on your shelves or locate all the misplaced ones customers have scattered all over the place, you can use AIM Mobile to let your staff use their own smartphones to securely count product as they find it and add it to your count cycle's counted quantity (just be sure you denote what has and has not been counted).

 

When a count is completed and quantities updated, AIM automatically makes adjusting ledger entries to re-balance your inventory assets to reflect the new counts. This will also post to that product's history showing the quantity change. By default, this will use the transfer reason "Lost/Stolen" to reflect that change. If you prefer to have a different transfer reason be used, you can adjust this using the system variable "PhysicalTransfer" and point it to any transfer reason (system categories 1631 thru 1639).

Some of this year’s enhancements include:

  • Ability to use AIM Gift Cards for online purchases.
  • Ability to show taxes as part of the long-term contract checkout.
  • For customers associated with more than one account, the ability to choose between accounts for reviewing account history or making a payment.
  • Ability to show current balance and payoff for long-term rentals.
