Summer Reading 2021
The Redford Township District Library offers summer reading programs for children, teens, and adults. The Summer Reading program will be available to residents of all ages! The program begins on Monday, June 14, and ends on Tuesday, August 24. Participants receive an information packet with simple instructions. With the goal of encouraging children (and adults!) to read each day.

Summer Food Program

Once again, the library will be hosting the Free Summer Food Program on Mondays and Wednesdays. This is a free program that provides free breakfast and lunch for children 18 years of age and under! The Summer Food Program will start on Monday, June 21st, and end on August 25th. Visit our website for more information.
TALK: Text and Learn for Kindergarten

Now introducing TALK! TALK messages suggest activities for little ones to learn through exploration and discovery to help you make sure your child gets a head start on school readiness. It’s easy to sign up by texting TALK to 75547.
Friends of the Library Book Store

The Friends of the Library mini "self-service" book store has moved to the first floor of the library. Browse through books for all ages! Open during business hours.
Join us each month for a new food truck and some delicious food.
The Estia Greek Steet Food Truck will be parked in
the library's parking lot from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 12.

Summer Scares Book Club

Join us just before sunset as we talk about all things spooky & scary. We will read Katherine Arden's middle-grade novel "Small Spaces." Call the library today to reserve your copy or place a hold on your own through our online catalog. Registration required.

Help us celebrate the end of summer reading at Handy Park in Redford! Bring your skates, scooters, skateboards, or rollerblades, and meet us at the skate park. We will have games, snacks, and a Play it Again Sports gift card raffle! Sign up here.

T-Shirt Tote Bag
Wednesday, August 25th from 6:00-7:30 PM

Upcycle a T-shirt into a tote bag that you can use for shopping trips or to the beach. Bring an old T-shirt if you have one, though we will have a few extras. You can choose a sew or no-sew version. A sewing machine will be provided for those who choose the sewn version.
