What's New for May!
Librarian's Corner
Placer County Earth Day Celebration

The Placer County Earth Day celebration on April, 21st focused on the ARTS, LIBRARIES, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, CULTURE and the ENVIRONMENT.

This was a terrific community event! Our goal in attending was to raise awareness about the Loomis Library and Community Learning Center and our programs for children, teens and adults!

We sold books that were donated to the Friends of the Library, raised awareness of the library book sale on April 27 & 28th, and found Loomis residents who didn't know the library existed!
I am so excited for all of the great things coming up at the library! I've been hard at work trying to get the word out about all of the amazing programs, events, and materials we offer and it looks like the hard work is paying off - circulation and membership are both growing with each passing month as more and more people discover our fantastic library! That being said, we're still finding that many people don't even know that we're open! Next time you have a chance to talk us up to your friends or family, please do so! We're here to serve the entire community, but we can't do that unless the entire community knows we're here!

Our book: The Other Einstien by Marie Benedict

What secrets may have lurked in the shadows of Albert Einstein’s fame? His first wife, Mileva “Mitza” Marić, was more than the devoted mother of their three children—she was also a brilliant physicist in her own right, and her contributions to the special theory of relativity have been hotly debated for more than a century... - Good Reads
