" Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'"
-Martin Luther King, Jr.

At this time of year, most people are striving to keep their new year's resolutions of improving themselves; eating healthier, working out more, procrastinating less, etc. It seems that many forget that a simple way to improve oneself is to help others. Being a leader in the staffing industry has helped me realize just how rewarding it is to help others, and I hope that I inspire others to do the same.

4 Video Marketing Trends to Expect in 2016

Brad Jefferson, Martech Advisor
Last year, online video consumption continued to trend upwards - leaving no room for doubt that in 2016 we'll see the same. On a Q3 earnings call, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg announced that 1.5 million small businesses shared videos on Facebook in September 2015. The number of hours people spend watching YouTube videos was also up 60 percent over 2014.
As a result, more marketers across industries are embracing video than ever before. But this is just the beginning. This year, video marketing won't just be a nice-to-have. It will become an integral part of the modern marketer's wheelhouse.

The Maslow Media Group has been busy the past few months! We've been wrapping up a six part whiteboard animation for a government organization, providing translators to international news bureaus, and providing a full broadcast production crew in Miami for corporate Town Hall meetings over several days. MMG is currently providing secret-cleared videographers and makeup artists to a government organization as well as studio audio engineers in Dallas, Texas and North Raleigh, North Carolina for webcasts and corporate meetings.

Featured Project
The Maslow Media Group provided two separate crews, in Tyler, Texas last month, for an international news organization working on a story on gun control.
One crew flew in from Washington, DC to do interviews and cover a gun competition in the area.
The second crew was provided the following week to continue interviews and competition and was prepared to provide a camera drone to shoot aerials during the shoot. Both crews had full HD camera packages, including the Canon 5D DSLR package, and C-300 for excellent depth of field.

Why You Should Train Supervisors on Employee Rights (Especially Now)

Kathy Close, The Business Journals

The legal theory respondeat superior ("let the Master answer") means, in layman's terms, that employers may be held liable for the actions of their supervisors if the supervisors are acting within the scope of their employment. Therefore, it is imperative for employers to know what their supervisors are doing.

Supervisor training is an essential component of keeping an employer's liability to a minimum. Not only do supervisors need to understand what is acceptable in terms of conduct regarding employees, but they need to understand the consequences of their actions.

Although there aren't any federal laws that require supervisor training, there are a lot of areas where training could benefit supervisors - and your organization. As the primary contact with employees, supervisors are often responsible for implementing policies, and for ensuring that employees are treated fairly under the law.
