Midterms and The Farm Bill — What’s Next?
A week after Election Day, several races are still uncertain, but one thing is clear: the House of Representatives has flipped to Democratic control. The current and next House Agriculture Committee chairs met on Monday, despite the federal holiday. We hope that the Farm Bill was at the top of their agenda. Since the 2014 Farm Bill expired on September 30, hundreds of programs that support nutrition and food access for low income people and provide much-needed resources for historically underserved farmers and ranchers and new and beginning farmers are at risk. Farm School NYC is among them. We urge this Congress to pass a strong, bipartisan farm bill before the end of the year.  You can, too.
