Updates from the Wilford Woodruff Papers Foundation

Integration with Church Databases

The Research Team has identified over 10,000 of the 16,000 individuals included in the Wilford Woodruff Papers and we are now collaborating with a number of Church departments and projects, including the Church History Biographical Database, Saints by Sea, the Nauvoo Community Project, FamilySearch, and BYU’s Record Linking Lab to make this new information accessible. Combining our information with all of these databases will make it possible to identify hundreds of thousands of related individuals because Wilford Woodruff’s records provide unique primary sources that were previously unavailable.

Church Cites Wilford Woodruff Papers Website

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently cited information from the Wilford Woodruff Papers to help explain the importance of the renovation of the St. George Utah Temple and Wilford Woodruff’s role in recording and administering the sacred ordinances that have been performed in the St. George temple since its initial dedication in 1877.
