Welcome to our first newsletter! It has been a goal of this Board to reach out to our residents in as many ways as possible, in hopes of keeping as many people as possible informed and up to date on all that is going on with our County. We’ve increased our social media presence, we’ve updated our website, and now we have started our online newsletter. We hope that you will sign up to receive further editions and look forward to any suggestions you may have on future content.

Commissioners Reorganize

with Ciesla as Director


Warren County Commissioner Jason J. Sarnoski was sworn in for a fifth term and Commissioner Lori Ciesla was named Director for 2023 as the Board of County Commissioners held its annual reorganization meeting at the Courthouse in Belvidere on January 1, 2023. Commissioner James R. Kern III was named Deputy Director, and Warren County Clerk Holly Mackey was sworn in for a second five-year term.

Commissioners Approve Budget, Tax Rate to Decrease

A 2023 spending plan that decreases the equalized tax rate to the lowest level in more than a decade, and that fully funds a capital improvement program with no borrowing, won unanimous approval from the Board of County Commissioners on March 22.The $106 million county government budget, along with the $6.1 million county library budget, were the result of careful planning and hard decisions, the commissioners said. Commissioners Endorse Bill to Block Foreign Ownership of Farmland


The Board of County Commissioners recognized the importance of protecting New Jersey's agricultural land from acquisition by hostile foreign governments or persons by passing a resolution at its February 8 meeting, endorsing NJ Senate Bill S-3534 to help to achieve that goal. READ MORE

Warren County Preserved More Than 1,190 Acres of Farmland in 2022


Warren County continues to aggressively protect its remaining farmland, with 13 farms totaling more than 1,190 acres permanently preserved by the County and its partners last year.

Warren County Welcomes Project Self-Sufficiency to Hackettstown

County Commissioner Director Lori Ciesla and Commissioner Jason J. Sarnoski celebrated the Hackettstown grand opening of Project Self-Sufficiency’s “Journey” mobile office. Staffed by a driver and case manager, Project Self-Sufficiency Journey brings free food, diapers, and essential resources to those in need.

Oxford Central School Archery Team Qualifies for the State Championship in Pursuit of its 16th Consecutive State Title


The team shot under the watchful eye of the National Archery in the Schools Program. Warren County Commissioners James R. Kern III and Jason J. Sarnoski were impressed with the skill of the athletes, and wished them luck moving forward!
