Governor Cuomo Signs the COVID-19 Emergency Eviction and Foreclose Prevention Act of 2020
On Monday, December 28, Governor Cuomo signed the COVID-19 Emergency Eviction and Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2020. The Act prevents residential evictions, foreclosure proceedings, credit discrimination and negative credit reporting related to the COVID-19 pandemic until at least Friday, May 1, 2021. Second Round of Paycheck Protection Program Loans Coming
Congress recently approved a $900 billion COVID-19 relief package, which includes $284 billion for a second round of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Official guidance and regulations have not yet been issues by the Small Business Administration (SBA), but updates will be provided as they are available. Until then, business owners should speak to their lenders for guidance. The deadline for this round of loans will be Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
Open Storefronts Extended Through September 2021
Mayor de Blasio has announced that the Open Storefronts Program has been extended through Thursday, September 30, 2021. The program, which was piloted in November and December, allows storefront businesses to use a portion of the sidewalk to conduct business. Click here for more information.
