We are excited to welcome the new year and introduce our new Executive Director, Kristen Ivy Moses! Kristen Ivy officially joined RI IPL on January 1st and is looking forward to meeting all our members in person.

RI Interfaith Solar Initiative

In partership with SmartPower, we are happy to announce the RI Interfaith Solar Initiative. This statewide initiative will provide RI IPL members, as well as their friends, families, and communities, with easy and affordable solar options.

Participants will have access to free solar workshops, solar incentive information, zero-down solar financing options, and the opportunity to work with experienced community solar ambassadors .

Help RI IPL achieve our goal of increasing solar energy awareness and adoption in RI. When 60 households or congregations sign solar contracts through our initiative, SmartPower will d onate a free 5.5 kW PV system to a local nonprofit organization of our choosing!

Looking to buy or lease a new electric vehicle (EV)? There's an EV Showcase near you! Join People's Power & Light for hot drinks, baked goods, and Q&A about EVs! 

On January 19th, Drive Green with People's Power & Light and Mayor Elorza's Sustain PVD initiative will be hosting an EV Showcase at the Alex and Ani City Center's heated pavilion in Downtown Providence! 

The event is FREE and open to the public. 

Drive Green with People's Power & Light is a limited-time electric vehicle (EV) discount program aiming to make choosing an EV easier and more affordable for you. Anyone is eligible to participate and receive a discount to purchase or lease a wide selection of EVs at a participating dealer. 

SustainPVD is Mayor Elorza's community-wide sustainability initiative to make Providence a greener, healthier, more livable city. It seeks to educate, empower, and connect residents, businesses, institutions, and municipal government to achieve the goals set forth by Sustainable Providence.

Eco Depot 

Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (RIRRC) invites Rhode Island residents to safely dispose of their household hazardous waste on Saturday, January 7 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Resource Recovery located at 65 Shun Pike in Johnston. This Eco-Depot is available to Rhode Island residents only, and to help reduce time spent in line, appointments should be made in advance.
