“I was sick of everyone talking about revitalization, without taking action. Finally, I decided it was time to put my money where my mouth is and do something about it.”
Andrew Gushee is the owner of 9 Mile Coffee, located at 1077 US 9 in Schroon Lake, New York. No stranger to hard work, Gushee is also the owner of Adirondack Home Services, a general contracting, care-taking and home services company.
"I realized Schroon Lake needed a place, a place to hang out and chill. A safe, inviting place where community could happen. Where comradery could happen. I longed for that place."
The LCLGRPB partnered with 9 Mile Coffee to get their business up and running. We are proud to be the primary funding source for many start-ups throughout the North Country.

Town of Whitehall Streambank
Stabilization Project

The LCLGRPB procured a grant for the Town of Whitehall from the Lake Champlain Basin Program to implement a streambank stabilization and stormwater reduction project on Mud Creek. The Town partnered with the Washington County DPW to implement the project, which included the stabilization of 175 feet of streambank, the installation of three drywells and the creation of a vegetated swale to reduce stormwater runoff into Mud Creek. Willows were planted along the bank of the stream to improve the riparian habitat and aid in soil stabilization. The LCLGRPB provided grant management services for the project.

Call for Projects: Isle La Motte Lake Segment

Do you have a project related to stormwater, drinking water or wastewater infrastructure, invasive species or erosion control that you may be seeking funding for in the future? Representatives of the Towns of Altona, Beekmantown, Champlain, Chazy, Clinton, Dannemora, Ellenburg, Mooers, Plattsburgh, and Saranac, and the Villages of Champlain and Rouses Point are encouraged to respond. Contact Allison Gaddy at alllison.gaddy@lclgrpb.org for more information or to discuss a project.
The LCLGRPB would like to include your project in an ongoing watershed management plan. Inclusion of a project within a watershed management plan will give the project higher ranking when applying for funding in the future. Including a project in this plan does not obligate the municipality in any way.
