Happy Summer! Can you believe that we have reached the midpoint of 2015? Are you redeeming the time?
What does it mean to
redeem the time? It means to make the most of every moment God gives us by spending that moment loving Him and loving others. That's what life is all about: love. Life is too short to waste time acting without love.
But love can be a challenge, can't it? We don't always feel like loving others. It may be too inconvenient, too difficult, too uncomfortable. But if we have chosen to follow Jesus, we want to love, and we choose to love others because we love Jesus.
These past three months since my last newsletter have taught me a lot about loving others. I have come to realize even more that love is a decision. An act of the will. And that with the grace of God, we can submit our will to His every single time.
On the home front, my husband Dom and I have been enjoying our five beautiful grandchildren as we adjust to our new family dynamics. Dom, our son-in-law Peter, and my brother Anthony put together an amazing swing set for the children. It took them about 40 hours to assemble, but it was well worth it.

The Three Amazing Musketeers
Another wonderful event for me this spring was the planting of a lilac tree by my back patio. When I was a young girl, we had a lilac tree in the backyard. During the summer months, I would spend hours reading under the lilac tree while drinking in its amazing fragrance. To this day, every time I smell a lilac, I remember those happy times.

This summer, I hope you, too, forge happy memories. Treasure each moment of every day. It is a gift from God to you--a gift of love to enjoy and to share.
With love and blessings,
MaryAnn

A WINNING STORY OF FAITH FOR 8-12 YEAR-OLDS!
Do you believe in the impossible? Eight-year-old Jeremiah Bentley asks himself the same question in my latest children's book, DO ANGELS RIDE PONIES?
Confined to a wheelchair, Jeremiah wants more than anything else to ride a pony. But the doctors have said that he will never be able to ride a pony. Will Jeremiah accept the doctor's report as the final word, or will he discover that "all things are possible to him who believes?"
What are readers saying about DO ANGELS RIDE PONIES?
The story is beautiful, and I found myself emotionally touched by it. Tears filled my eyes at the ending. ~ Stefani Milan, hostess of READ ALL ABOUT IT, RadioVisionTV
I truly enjoyed this book and the message it conveys to the children who will read it. Do Angels Ride Ponies? not only teaches the truth of God's Word, but also the potential each one of us has when we believe and act on that truth.
~ Deborah Piccurelli, Author of
Hush,Little Baby
If you order your copy of DO ANGELS RIDE PONIES? today, you will receive a free copy of Dr. Dom's monograph entitled
Vaccinations: Helpful or Harmful for Your Children?

Give the Child in Your Life a Life-Changing Gift
What is the most important gift you can give your child? It is a knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Why is this gift so important? The reason is that without a knowledge of Jesus, one can never establish a relationship with God. And a relationship with God through Jesus Christ is the very reason we were created.
Children's hearts are particularly open to the things of God. Take advantage of this opportunity to introduce your child to who Jesus really is.

Introducing the first novel in the historical fiction trilogy
THE ITALIAN CHRONICLES
Stay tuned also for this first novel in my trilogy titled THE ITALIAN CHRONICLES, to be released in late summer or early fall.
Here is a short blurb of the story:
A young woman, a priest, and a secret that keeps them bitterly bound to each other . . .
A horrifying encounter drags soon-to-be-married Maria Landro into the shocking world of religious corruption and an unrelenting village code of honor that threatens to rob her of everything she holds dear. Shunned by the very people who should have embraced her, she withdraws into the confines of Bella Terra, her family's farm, and remains there for several years . . . until she is forced to leave to ensure the formal education of her son. In a desperate attempt to protect her child from vicious tongues and malicious hate-mongers and her family farm from bankruptcy, she determines to seek vengeance against the one who ruined her life. But when Luca Tonetta enters her life, she learns a powerful lesson about forgiveness and grace.

Recipe Rack
Are you looking for a quick, nutritious meal that you can whip up in a few minutes and that will taste delicious? Try one of my favorites: Farfalle with Broccoli. One of the great things about this recipe is that you can use any small pasta, regular or whole grain, and you can add any of your favorite vegetables, including asparagus, zucchini, spinach, cauliflower, or peas.
Farfalle with Broccoli
(In Italian, "farfalle" means "butterflies". This lovely pasta has the shape of butterflies.)
1 lb. Farfalle (regular or whole grain)
2 crowns of Broccoli, broken into small pieces and slightly steamed (You may substitute cauliflower, asparagus, zucchini, spinach, or peas for the broccoli.) Grated Parmesan cheese, 1 cup or to taste Salt & Pepper, to taste
Place about 4 tablespoons of olive oil in a sauce pan. Add minced garlic and saut? until golden brown. Add the steamed broccoli and cook until covered with olive oil and garlic mixture.
Boil the pasta in a large pot and cook to al dente. Add a pinch of salt to the boiling water while the pasta cooks.
When pasta is ready, pour into a large platter or bowl. Top with the broccoli and olive oil. Season generously with Parmesan cheese. Enjoy! Serves 4-6 people.
