Dear Solon Chamber Member,

We’re BACK!!! After a mini-hiatus due to COVID, our fun and roaring summer parade will travel through Solon this summer as part of the 2022 City of Solon Home Days Celebration. Envision the sounds of families and friends enjoying a summer party. The roar of the engines, the beauty of the cars, the beautiful notes of entertainment, family activities, sunshine and good-tasting food brings you to the 2022 City of Solon Home Days.

The City of Solon and the Solon Recreation Department will be hosting the Annual Home Days Festival during the expanded weekend of July 29-31, 2022. As part of the festivities, the Solon Recreation Department will be hosting the Home Days Parade on Sunday, July 31. This year’s parade will start assembling at Arthur Road School at 10:30AM before concluding in front of Solon High School at approximately 1:00PM. The parade will start at 12:00PM.

With this in mind, the Solon Recreation Department cordially invites you and your organization to participate in our Home Days Parade. We encourage all participating groups to decorate their floats and cars. Parade participants are reminded of the following guidelines:

  • If your group is walking in the parade, there is a limit of 25 people in a group.
  • If you are participating with a vehicle, we encourage you to decorate your car.
  • There is a limit of one (1) car/truck/float per group.
  • All groups must have an item such as candy to handout/toss during the parade. When handing out your item, your parade unit must stay on pace with the rest of the parade so that there is no gap.

If you are able to participate in the Parade, please complete the form by clicking here and return it to the Solon Recreation Department by July 15, 2022. This festival will be a great end to a summer of fun sponsored by the City of Solon and the Solon Recreation Department. We look forward to seeing you at Solon Home Days.

Sincerely,
E. David Peleg

American Red Cross:
Blood Donors Needed!
One out of 365 African Americans has Sickle Cell disease, often requiring multiple blood transfusions. It is essential that the blood received by Sickle Cell patients be the most compatible match possible, from someone of the same race. 13% of the U.S. population is Black, but less than 3% of Red Cross blood donors self-identify as African American. You don’t need to know your blood types to donate, as the Red Cross tests all blood donations. So please, help the fight against Sickle Cell by visiting www.RedCrossBlood.org and making your lifesaving appointment today.
