Happy Birthday, Buddha
Saka Dawa Duchen – which this year falls on May 31 – is the anniversary of Shakyamuni Buddha's Birth, Enlightenment and Passing Away.
This is one of the most important days in the Buddhist calendar. The karma of any actions, positive and negative, on this day is said to increase by 300 million times.

Discovering Buddhism

Deepen a Caring Heart: From Self-Compassion to Bodhicitta

Each of us has a basic goodness with qualities of caring for others that simply needs to be deepened and expanded. We will start with how to develop self-compassion and use that as our basis for deepening our skillful compassion for others. We will meditate, listen, contemplate, question and discuss to further illuminate and develop our naturally abiding basic caring heart.

Exploring Buddhism
Exploring the View, Tenets and the Middle Way
with Geshe Tenzin Legtsok

Hybrid at Ocean of Compassion, Campbell, CA
Exploring Buddhism is the next step after the Discovering Buddhism course and is intended for students with a good understanding of basic Buddhism.
This module teaches the right views we need to realize to bring about transformation by uprooting successively more subtle levels of ignorance that are the roots of suffering.

Oral Transmission of the Complete Lamrim Chenmo
with Geshe Tenley

The Lamrim Chenmo or The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment by Lama Tsongkhapa is one of the most revered spiritual texts in the world of Tibetan Buddhism. Geshe Tenley will recite the entire text in Tibetan, giving listeners the oral transmission (Tib: lung) he received from his teacher. Receiving a transmission is considered to confer enormous benefits and acts as a seed for one’s understanding to grow and bear fruit.

Global Mani Retreat 2026

All welcome!
In honor of FPMT’s 50th anniversary, the entire FPMT community is invited to join together in a Global Mani Retreat, helping to fulfill Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s Vast Vision of hosting 100 Million Mani Retreats around the world.
The global program includes online teachings with High Lamas and group practice sessions to generate merit, create the causes for Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s swift return, and support the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (the mantra count will be offered to His Holiness at the end of the retreat).
