Dear Reader,
Well, we made it into the new year, eh?

The holidays are over!

And the elections, too!

By the way, I've never observed an election for President of the United States like we just had.

And from where we started in all this political process to where we ended is "troubling" to me.

Where are we as American citizens?

What's to be done so that we recognize what a exceptional country we have, populated with all of us: red, white and blue.

Come share your thoughts Wednesday morning via Skype 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.

Please come to inform and discuss, not to argue.

Successful regard$,

You may have heard that more money is available for PPP loans, EIDL grants, and special grants for live venue operators. This is true, but it will take a little time - at least 10 days or longer - until the programs start running. There will also be important changes to the PPP program, traditional SBA lending programs (7a, 504 and micro loans), and more.
Stay tuned to the Houston SBA office. As soon as guidance is completed and in our hands we will hold informational webinars to assist you in understanding if this funding is right for your business and how to access it.
Be sure to check with all the groups, organizations and programs the SBA has.

1842
Emerging from an enemy attack on his retreating British army's line leaving Kabul, Afghanistan, Dr. William Brydon and a few Indian sepoys (soldiers) stagger into a Jalalabad sentry post as the sole witnesses to the massacre.
1898
French novelist Émile Zola publishes his spirited defense of Captain Alfred Dreyfus, an officer of Jewish background charged with treason. Zola points to evidence of an army cover-up and accuses the military of anti-Semitism. The letter will spark heated debates in France about equal rights for all citizens.
1910
The Radio Telephone Company transmits live performances of Enrico Caruso performing opera arias at New York City's Metropolitan Opera House. Radio receivers on ships in New York harbor, in hotels, and elsewhere throughout New York allow the public to hear the world's first public wireless broadcast .
1968
Newly sober after a serious drug problem, Johnny Cash brings his band, and wife June Carter Cash, to Folsom State Prison in California to record two live sets. The album will sell millions and revitalize the career of The Man in Black.

I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People get out of the way much faster now.

Gone are the days when girls used to cook like their mothers. Now they drink like their fathers.

I didn’t make it to the gym today. That makes five years in a row.

I decided to stop calling the bathroom the “John” and renamed it the “Jim”. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Old age is coming at a really bad time.

TIPS OF THE DAY
"Recognized as an industry leader and pioneer in small business incubation" by the National Business Incubation Association and as "One of Houston's core entrepreneurial groups" by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and "Ranked the #1 new business development group in Houston" by Houston Proud!

We are a not-for-profit cooperative association of independent
business owners for market expansion, business development,
entrepreneurial education and professional growth.

We were created from an independent research project of the Houston Chamber of Commerce in the late 1970's on the importance of start-up and emerging small businesses. We brought you Houston's first small business incubator, which became Texas' oldest, the first co-working space in Texas, the first Womens Business Center in the United States and the first Residency Incubator and first Virtual Accelerator Program in the World. Our clients have ranged from pre-start-ups to the largest companies in the United States! We clearly demonstrated that entrepreneurship could be taught and that business plans were not a requirement for a successful business. Our start-ups have won virtually every award in Houston for business growth, some nationally, some even internationally and some of our established client companies are household names in Houston. We operate entirely without grants, gifts, donations or public funding. We don't have our hand out and are NOT your tax dollars at work! We are totally self-sufficient!

We grow companies, build careers and advance ideas!
May we assist with yours?
