EVENT OF THE WEEK-

Aiken Ballon Festival on Saturday and Sunday

Did you know that Aiken had a ballon festival? Most people don't. But it happens this Saturday and Sunday at the Aiken Fairgrounds. Not only can you watch the ballons being inflated and lifting off, but for $25 you can actually take a ride in one. There will also be food and retail vendors, as well as activities for the children. One of the highlights occur Saturday night after 8 p.m. At that time there is a grand finale where the balloons light up in unison along with a music and laser light show takes place as the balloons have a cooperated burn that produces a glow. You will want to go to website for more information.

Restaurant of the Week

Prime Steakhouse

If you think that you have to go to New York or Chicago for a sophisticated upscale steakhouse, think again!  Since 2009, owner Randy Stramm has been operating Prime Steakhouse in downtown Aiken.  This restaurant is definitely one of the top restaurants in Aiken, if not all of the state.  Don't think that the meat comes off of the truck and thrown on the grill that day-all of their meats are black Angus or prime graded and dried aged, on premise, for no less than 28 days.  If steak is not your thing, they also have lobster, chicken and seafood.  Featuring a wonderful salad and an excellent selection of spirits, this is truly a landmark restaurant in Aiken.      For more information, go to homepage.

REAL ESTATE FACT FOR THE WEEK:

For this year in South Carolina: 39% of homes have sold above list price; only 9% of homes had to drop their price 10% in order to sel; there are 21% less homes on the market for sale as there was a year ago at this time.  Conclusion:  If you see a house you want to buy, you want to make a very good offer as there is low inventory.
