Twenty-four Personal Care Workers (PCWs) represented by CUPE Local 5525 have been on strike at Villa Colombo Toronto (VCT) since May 28, 2025. Villa Charities is not involved in the collective bargaining process and is not a party to the negotiations. However, some of these PCWs provide care to our apartment residents, and we recognize that this situation may be unsettling for the residents and their families.VCT ensured that services for the apartment residents have continued during this period and were performed by equally qualified staff.

We understand that the VCT leadership team has put forward a fair and competitive offer to its PCWs, and we are hopeful that an agreement can be reached soon.
