Bring your own skates and helmet to enjoy skating outdoors on our new free skating rink! Enjoy activities such as a hockey shoot-challenge, carnival games and arts & crafts. Students at DanzArts Toronto Attend Female Empowerment Workshop
On January 20, our students at DanzArts Toronto attended a female empowerment workshop, hosted by the “You Got This, Girl” organization. The workshop included meditation, yoga and discussions on how to achieve their goals by cultivating mindfulness, self-love, and confidence. Funding for the workshop was generously provided by the Villa Charities Foundation and Columbus Centre Board. Registration is now open for winter term classes with DanzArts Toronto at the Columbus Centre!

Presentations on Women of the Italian Renaissance and Florence at Cultural Tuesdays
Our free Cultural Tuesdays series continues at the Columbus Centre. Renaissance Scholar, Dr. Sarah Rolfe Prodan will discuss the historical painter, Sofonisba Anguissola (c. 1532-1625) on February 5 at 7pm, and Luca Somigli will be presenting a discussion around Florence, Capital of Italian Modernity: From Unification to Fascism on February 12 at 7pm.

Apartment Residents Invited to Casino Rama Outing

Villa Colombo Toronto to Hold Coffee Tasting for Residents
On February 5, the Food Services department at Villa Colombo Toronto will be sampling coffee to identify the tastiest and most preferred option among the residents. Our residents and their families are invited to enjoy a variety of coffee options in exchange for their feedback and an afternoon of music and treats. Villa Colombo Vaughan Fundraising for Annual “Breath of Spring Campaign”
In partnership with the Ontario Lung Association, Villa Colombo Vaughan has been busy fundraising for lung disease with their annual “Breath of Spring” campaign. This year’s campaign will run from February 25 – March 8 where residents, families and staff have the opportunity to contribute by purchasing tulips and ferns to promote the importance of breathing in support of the campaign. Opening Reception of “Home on the Streets” and “Nowhere to Call Home” Exhibitions
On January 24, members of the community, VIP guests and Board members gathered in the Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery at the Columbus Centre for the opening night of Marco Sassone’s “Home on the Streets” exhibition of paintings and drawings, and Leah Denbok’s “Nowhere to Call Home” photographic portraits. Attendees enjoyed light refreshments as they viewed the compelling images of homelessness in our urban landscape. The Pirandello Theatre Society Presents “The Adventures of Pinocchio”
Join us for a musical extravaganza with multilingual songs, in the Pirandello Theatre Society’s production of “The Adventures of Pinocchio” at Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery at the Columbus Centre. The show will be running from February 27 – March 3, with evening and matinee performances available. Tickets are $25 for evening shows and $10 for matinee shows and children.
