Annual “Mostra Dei Presepi” Exhibit Opening at the Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery
Organized by Centro Scuola, the annual “Mostra Dei Presepi” exhibit will be on display from December 8 to January 10 in the Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery at the Columbus Centre. This popular display presents 30 Nativity scenes assembled from different parts of the world and regions in Italy. Throughout the month of December, various schools will bring their students to experience the exhibit and learn about its history.

Participants were asked to enter individually or in groups and decorate a door inside the long-term care facility with a holiday theme. The winner will be awarded a $100 gift certificate.

Markham Majors Players Volunteer at Villa Colombo Vaughan
Players from the Markham Majors 2004 Triple A hockey team recently volunteered at Villa Colombo Vaughan. The players played Bingo with the residents and served them espressos. We would like to thank Nancy Di Santo, mother of one of the players, for organizing this wonderful volunteer visit.

On Sunday, December 15 at 3pm, join the Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra for “Christmas @ Columbus Centre.” This afternoon festive program will feature an array of Christmas-themed pieces and also a selection of Italian operatic repertoire and Viennese waltzes by Strauss. Soprano Inga Filipova Williams and tenor Stanislas Vitort will join the orchestra under the baton of Maestro John Palmer.
