Crossroads Teen Driving is again partnering with State Farm for the “Trunk Junk” campaign. Help student drivers clean out their trunks and back seats, replace and check safety equipment and review winter driving tips.
Here’s how your school can get involved:
Invite students to open their trunks and rid them of “junk.” Talk about replacing all of that junk with important winter safety supplies they would need in an emergency. Hold a contest for most junk, weirdest junk or just raffle the safety items to all participants. It’s an easy-to-implement, fun event that teaches an important lesson about safety.
Participating high schools will receive a kit of materials. There are 20 full kits available that contain posters, fliers and table tents to promote the event, winter driving safety handouts, mini flashlights, ice scrapers, fleece blankets, tire gauges, gift cards, jumper cables and first-aid kits. There are also 10 mini kits available to schools that may not be able to commit to holding an event but still want to hand out supplies and safety tip sheets to students.
Quantities are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis; while supplies last. Questions? Email
