Starting This Sunday - Two Services!
This Sunday, Sept. 12 marks the beginning of returning back to two services here at St. Giles. The schedule for this Sunday will be as follows:

10:30 – Coffee and Fellowship in Common Grounds

11:00 – Contemporary Service (Patterson) / Second Sunday School Rotation (Adults)
Life Group Sign-Ups
In the next week or two our Fall Life Groups are starting back up. As you probably know, Sunday worship is truly our time to join together to worship and seek God’s Word as a body. However, Life Groups are where we experience the depth and transformative power of the community of God through study, prayer, and fellowship. If you would like to join a Life Group this year we will have a binder for sign-ups in the Narthex this Sunday. Also, you can sign up online by clicking here.

Sunday Morning Classes Resume This Sunday!
Sunday morning classes resume on September 12. At 9:30, there will be a discussion of the video series "God is Closer than You Think" by John Ortberg. Intimacy with God can happen right now if you want it. A closeness you can feel, a goodness you can taste, a reality you can experience for yourself. "God is Closer than You Think" shows how you can enjoy a vibrant, moment-by-moment relationship with your heavenly Father.

At 11:00, James Anderson will teach from Romans in the upstairs classroom. As written in Psalm 103:4, “He redeemed my life from destruction; He crowned me with lovingkindness and tender mercy.” The Gospel not only saves us from God’s wrath but also transforms us into His likeness. Paul grasps the whole picture and is communicating the foundational truths of the Gospel to this diverse collection of Christians in Rome, into this fullness. As Paul writes these truths, he marvels and says, “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!"

Wednesday night classes will resume September 22.
Second Half Men's Ministry
Our Senior Men’s Ministry, Second Half, is meeting every 2nd and 4th Wednesday in Common Grounds. This ministry is now in its 19th year and has been meeting via Zoom for the last 15 months. All senior men are welcome. We have 60 men presently meeting in this ministry and it has been a wonderful fellowship and support for the needs of senior men. For questions please contact Gordon at 804-562-6576 or email hipriority7@gmail.com.
Women's Tuesday Morning Bible Study
The Women of the Church meet each Tuesday morning and you are invited. We gather at 9:30 here at the church for fellowship and light refreshments. At 9:45 we will start our meeting with prayer, worship and announcements followed by a video series. We will be starting up again for our fall program on Tuesday, Sept 14th. We are kicking things off with a video series entitled, Jesus and Women. This is a wonderful study done by Kristi McLelland. She is a speaker, teacher and college professor. Her expertise is explaining the Bible passages on women through a MIddle Eastern lens. We look forward to all that she has to share with us as we grow deeper in our individual walk with the Lord and experience his love.
Church Life
Jobs for Life is a twelve-week program surrounding residents of public housing with the encouragement of mentors, instructors, class leaders, and their fellow students as they fight through barriers to fulfilling employment.

Mentor orientation will be held Tuesday, September 14th from 6 to 8pm at the Calhoun Center (436 Calhoun St.). Class begins September 21th, and will meet Tuesday evenings from 6pm-8:30pm at the Calhoun Center. Apply here to mentor: https://www.steprichmond.org/volunteer-adults
