DCDC's School Age Program Receives Danville Youth in Philanthropy Grant
DCDC was excited to be a recipient of a grant from Danville Area School District's Youth in Philanthropy group. The $1500 grant will be used to help fund field trips for DCDC's Summer School Age Program. Funding from the group allows DCDC to provide more enriching and engaging field trips for the children without having to pass the cost along onto their families.
The group, which determines it's funding priorities for the year and reviews applications, is funded through the Danville Area Community Foundation and is often the students first experience in philanthropy

Cost of Care Study
DCDC has offered and been accepted to participate in the Commonwealth's Cost of Child Care Study. Participation included a visit and tour of both sites, plus a three hour interview designed to collect basic information about the many resources that are needed to deliver care.
The statewide study is currently underway and will examine the true cost of providing child care in Pennsylvania. Family, group, and center-based licensed providers will all be participating in this important project, led by the University of Pennsylvania’s Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE) in partnership with Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL). Through this project, Pennsylvania seeks to improve policies, standards, and public funding for providers that care for young children.
