What's Up at DCDC!

Preschool Graduation

DCDC recently held two graduation ceremonies for their preschoolers who are moving onto Kindergarten in the Fall. Bloom Road's program was held on Friday, May 24, and Wall Street on June 5. There were just over 20 graduates this year.

Moms were given a flower by their child and each graduate received their preschool diploma a box of school supplies. After Wall Street's graduation, a Family Carnival was held for all DCDC families.

EITC Applications Available

Businesses are eligible to apply for Educational Improvement Tax Credits through the Department of Community and Economic Development beginning July 1 for newly applying businesses.

For contributions to Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organizations, a business may receive a tax credit equal to 100 percent of the first $10,000 contributed and up to 90 percent of the remaining amount contributed up to a maximum credit of $200,000 annually.

Once approved, your tax credits can be directed to DCDC. DCDC is an approved Pre-K Scholarship Organization and provides community families with scholarships to attend high quality preschool programs.

Preschool Yoga

A special thanks to DCDC mom, Maggie for spending some time in Preschool, sharing her love of yoga!

Maggie Wetzel, who is also a former DCDC team member from her college days, has offered her services to introduce Preschoolers to the practice of yoga. She will be spending time with each of our three classrooms.

The Teddy Bears were the first class, and far above, their favorite pose was the Cat Cow, which they thought was super silly and fun!

Thanks to all who purchased a bag - or more! DCDC raised nearly $100. Thanks Giant!

Welcome to Our New Intern!

Alexis Patterson will be interning with DCDC over the summer months, focusing on human resources and communications. A recent Bloomsburg University graduate majoring in Communication Studies and a minor in dance.

Alexis, in addition to being a DCDC Alumni, has worked the past four years in our School Age program while attending classes at BU. She is a Danville native.

In her free time, she is a

contemporary dance instructor with the Komotion Dance Program and enjoys going to the gym, kayaking, hiking, swimming, and spending time with family and friends.
