Discover Durham, Downtown Durham, Inc., the Durham Sports Commission, and the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce have jointly identified an opportunity to visit Indianapolis to learn from peers Wednesday, September 13th to Friday, September 15th.
At a similar size as the Triangle Region, Indianapolis also features thriving life sciences, tech, entrepreneurial, downtown economies, and unique assets such as the NCAA Headquarters.
What: The Inter-City Visit 2023

Who: The delegation includes 50+ business, government, nonprofit, and education sectors leaders from Durham and the Triangle community at large.
Why: To learn from the experiences of another similar-sized community, better understand our own community assets, and build relationships among each other to help us address our local challenges.

RTA Transportation Breakfast 2023: Launching BRT Across the Triangle
Be a part of an insightful conversation with elected and business leaders around the regional launch of BRT – “bus rapid transit” as well as “Buses Resembling Trains” – and hear about a complementary study of Freeway, Arterial, Street, and Tactical (FAST) transit that will link 5 BRT corridors together and directly serve RDU Airport.
You will join more than 200 community leaders who are devoted to staying on the forefront of the region’s key challenges and opportunities. The RTA Transportation Breakfast is an annual regional business community mainstay event you do not want to miss.

Katrina Ellison, Member Services & Event Coordinator
Katrina is a seasoned professional who brings a robust knowledge of event production and management, project management, coaching, business development and member relations.
With over 20 years of experience, she has served the marketplace as an
Executive Administrator, Program Administrator, Digital Marketer, and Event Specialist in the educational sector, as well as Farmers Insurance, Progressive Insurance, and within the Community Relations & Development department of PNC Bank. Katrina pursued a BS in Business Administration, Marketing from Western Governors University and is committed to her ongoing professional development.
She is a native of Cleveland, OH and recently relocated to North Carolina with her family. Katrina enjoys traveling, performing arts, and volunteering. Her passion can be seen in the two decades she has devoted to being a cheer/dance coach and youth mentor.

Get Recognition for your Company's Social Impact
The Civic 50 is a national survey started by Points of Light to recognize the most community minded businesses in the country. Any business with at least five employees that tries to make positive investments in the Triangle community is invited to apply for a chance to be recognized
for your efforts to do good. Taking the survey assessment is free, and your survey results will be private and help you create stronger community impact programs. The top 50 companies will be honored all year including an awards ceremony breakfast on October 25 at the Marriott City Center in Raleigh!
