Dear Friends,
As we gather together for worship this Sunday, the text for the message will be Mark 8:27-38, when Jesus asks a defining question. A question that MUST be answered, a question that still echoes through eternity, “Who do people say I am?”
The disciples offered easy answers—John the Baptist, Elijah, a prophet—repeating what others believed. But then Jesus pierced through the noise and asked, “But who do YOU say I am?” Peter’s bold confession, “You are the Messiah!” wasn’t enough. Jesus revealed the cost: self-denial, cross-bearing, and losing your life to save it. Faith isn’t borrowed opinions—it’s personal surrender.
Today, Jesus asks YOU the same question. Your answer determines:
» Your priorities (What will you gain if you forfeit your soul?)
» Your courage (Will you confess Him before others?)
» Your freedom (What cross is He calling you to carry?)
If Jesus stood before you now, how would YOU answer? Let your life shout the truth louder than your words.
Join me in praying this prayer as we approach Sunday…Lord, silence the world’s voices. Help us declare, “You are the Christ!” and live it through surrender. Give us strength to take up our cross daily. Amen.
P.S. Your answer to Jesus’ question doesn’t just shape your Sunday worship—it reshapes your entire existence.
I’ll look for you Sunday!
Pastor Mark
