Brand new Idyllwild hotspot! Just across the creek bridge from Strawberry Corner, this cheery and friendly spot boasts one of California's longest bars that looks out to the cedars and pines overlooking the creek.
Years in the making and backed by the Butterfield family of The Butterfield Overland Mail Trail, a stagecoach service in the United States, operating from 1857 to 1861. Owners, Frank & Lori Ferro also own FERROS upscale Italian restaurant on Cedar Street.
The Butterfield's commitment to Idyllwild is evident in their donating land and funds, bringing to life the Idyllwild Community Center, which will feature a creekside amphitheater and ice skating rink!
The famous stagecoaches drawn by a team of either four or six horses carried the mail and travelers at a then lightening speed of 5 miles per hour! Wells Fargo then continued the overland mail route.

Beer board:
You can select your own flight of four beers. My favorite (obviously on the far left) was the Patterson Heavy Scottish Style Ale, named after the Head Brewer's Scottish mum. My second favorite is the Cherry Wheat. All the beers are handcrafted and brewed on site in the huge tanks, a few of which are showcased in vibrant colors behind the serving bar.
We strolled over from Strawberry Corner last Saturday night and by 8:00 there were hundreds of happy craft beer aficionados. Definitely a social buzz, with folks from all over California, the desert, the coast and all spots in between. Lots of hugs, smiles with a "it's so great to meet you" vibe. It's worth a trip just to check this place out with the Brew Master, Don Put, there to educate you on his specialty brews. There's a full bar there too, and the food looked yummy, especially the Truffle Fries!
Strawberry Corner is now booking for Spring and Summer 2017. Check out the website and availability calendar to select your dates! Click here
Here's the new hammock on the extended deck. Nothing is more relaxing that swaying to the sounds of the creek, gazing up at the mesmerizing cedars and pines - even a view of the mountain ridge too!
One last note: If you have ever visited and seen just a dry creek bed during the drought, you should see Strawberry Creek now! It's a raging little river with all the melted snow and rain! The sound of rushing water just below the cabin is invigorating!
