Halloween Safety Tips
from Officer Faldowski
  1. Jack-o-lantern safety - Most young kids will paint their pumpkins but consider using a glow stick instead of a candle for the others. A glow stick can also provide color to your scary pumpkin.
  2. Home decoration safety - If you’re turning your home into a haunted house, keep safety in mind: make sure steps, sidewalks, porches and paths are well-lit and free of decorations and holiday props. Keep decorations away from fireplaces and candles.
  3. Take precautions against vandalism. Install outdoor lighting around your house to illuminate the area. You can also trim trees and shrubs near your house so people have less area to hide.
  4. Drive safely. Keep an eye open for trick or treat times in your area and remember to drive as carefully as possible when traveling this holiday season.
