Send Your Recipes!

On Sunday, we had a congregation conversation about the ELCA Domestic Hunger Grant we have been awarded, with the goal of strengthening nutrition education for our neighbors who come to Nina's Place on Saturdays.

We decided that we will use a part of the money to purchase a portable kitchen that can be used across our campus (inside and outside) to do food demonstrations and tastings — think samples at Costco!

Over the next few weeks, we are asking for two things from any and all members of the Zion, Evergreen, and Nina's community. First, if you are able to come on a Saturday during Nina's Place hours (9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.), we will be surveying our neighbors about their cooking preferences and familiarity with fresh produce. If you like to chat with folks, this is an opportunity for you! Second, if you have delicious recipes that feature any of the fresh produce listed below, please send them to Kurt or drop a copy off in his mailbox. One of our goals is to help our neighbors (many from other places) make more nutritious choices and learn about produce that might be unfamiliar to them.

Fourth Sunday of Easter

Second Sunday Healing Service

The gift of new life, of eternal life, is the gift of the risen Christ. It is the promise of Jesus. It was true for Dorcas in Joppa. It was true for those “who have come out of the great ordeal” in the Revelation vision. It is true for us and for all the baptized: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
