What is the PSAT?
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test that provides first-hand practice for the SAT. It also gives Grade 11 students a chance to enter National Merit scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools. Students will also receive feedback on their strengths/weaknesses for college preparedness.
Who takes this test?
This optional test is a national assessment for
students and is used to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
may take it as a practice SAT test; they may not enter the National Merit scholarship competition until their junior year.
When and Where is the test?
Wednesday, October 10, 8:00 AM– 12:15 PM
. Test will be in North Gym
. If you have a calculator, please bring it!
If you do not have one, we will provide calculators.
Sign up by Friday, October 5!
How can students sign up?
Tuesday, September 18 through Friday, September 21 sign up in the lunch room. Or see Mr. Heymans or Mrs. Kroger in the counseling office, Room 103, to sign up. You will recieve a practice booklet with your registration. The cost is $15. Juniors on free/reduced lunch program do not need to pay.
