ANNOUNCEMENTS
Do you know a student who advocates for their peers? Wants to better understand how decisions are made in MPS?
 
MPS School Board Student Representatives applications are now open through Dec. 12 for all sophomores and juniors.
 
Two students will be selected to make sure student experiences are considered in board decisions.
 
The student representative role exists to:
·         provide insight from a student lens, 
·         support and enhance the Board's understanding of student issues and how students experience their education, and
·         expand student voice.
 
Students will be interviewed and selected by CityWide Student Leadership Board

WHAT'S GOING ON AT SCHOOL
In early March, Sydney McGrath will be representing Roosevelt and the state of Minnesota in Washington D.C. for the United States Youth Senate Program. As one of two delegates selected per state, Sydney will be meeting with the President of the United States, Senate Co-Chairs, the Senate parliamentarian and historian, a justice of the Supreme Court, officials from the Departments of State and Defense, a foreign ambassador to the U.S., and senior members of the media. The students will discuss pertinent issues in our country and learn how to make an impact in politics. Following the program, Sydney will receive a $10,000 scholarship for college. Congratulations Sydney!!

If you would like it to count towards a particular 3rd hour, please add a dedication and put the name in.

Remember items brought in on Monday or Tuesday count as double!!
