COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANTS

The Community Impact Grant committee is hard at work reading applications. This year, they are allocating $129,635 in funds to local organizations for projects ranging from Zen Dens to after school programs to senior social hours.

Annual Awards Dinner and Retirement Celebration

We had an amazing turnout for this year's annual awards dinner where we celebrated Bob Horne's retirement.

We raised $5000 for the 25FOR25 Campaign in honor of Bob's years of service at UWGFR.

For all the winners, videos, and photos, check out our blog post.
STAMP OUT HUNGER 2019

This year's Stamp Out Hunger food drive collected 82,150 pounds of food. This was 4,000 pounds more than last year.
Thank you to GM Refrigeration and Bank Five for sponsoring the bags delivered to homes for ease of donation.
RED CROSS RECOGNITION

On Monday, June 10, Kim Smith, Executive Director, recieved an award from the American Red Cross, recognizing the work that UWGFR did with the Four Winds Fire in January 2019. At a ceremony at Fort Taber in New Bedford, Smith and UWGFR were thanked for the logistical coordination and support offered at that moment of crisis.

UWGFR was also able to recognize Edward Blanchard from Red Cross with the Unsung Hero Award as he was unable to attend the Awards Dinner due to a Red Cross emergency elsewhere in the country.
