A Reflection from Rev. Becky+

Hello!

A big THANK YOU for everyone who’s been working hard to make sure I feel welcome at Good Shepherd.

Part of me getting to know all of you is the chance to meet you outside the church – for the first three Sundays of November, three different families will be hosting Fall Gatherings at their homes. This will be an opportunity for me to get to know you better, count our blessings, and have some fun.

You should be getting an invitation in the mail soon (they go out today!) but in case you aren’t on our mailing list, you are still very much invited, and you can check out the details below. (And, if you were expecting an invitation in the mail but didn’t get one, please reach out to the office, we want to fix that!)

I hope to see you there!

A note about pastoral care emergencies: If you are experiencing a pastoral emergency (e.g. someone you love or you yourself are in the hospital, or you’re experiencing some distressing news) please call my cell phone (570-259-0671) and leave a message if I don’t pick up right away. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. If in doubt, please call – I can’t support you if I don’t know you need support!

The Alleluia Choir will rehearse for another thirty minutes after the rehearsal with the Cherub Choir, finishing at 6:15 p.m.

Morning Prayer

Will you join us Morning Prayer at noon on Wednesday in the library? It is a time of quiet devotion.

Join us to play Mahjong with fellow Episcopalians from St. Andrew’s and Good Shepherd. To begin, let’s meet on Wednesday, November 6th at 6 p.m. in the parish hall at St. Andrew’s. Be sure to bring your 2024 card!

Kindly respond to Sissy Dunton 252-883-3464, Boyd Harris 252-904-6647 or Terry Noble 252-813-4646

Could you help?

Here are some ways you can help our neighbors in need.

Thanksgiving Boxes

Would you be willing to help make Thanksgiving a wonderful day for some of our neighbors in need? The Outreach Committee is seeking donations to build boxes. Each box will cost $50 to fill. Please make out a check to Church of the Good Shepherd with a note of Thanksgiving Box, or use an envelope in the pew to put cash in and note Thanksgiving Box, or donate using the button on our website. Every donation, regardless of the amount will help us get to our goal. "
