The passing of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh is a time for both prayer and gratitude for a life of devoted service, says Bishop of Leeds, the Rt Revd Nick Baines in a sombre reflection. Read more here
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby led national prayers for HRH Prince Philip in a reflection published following Friday’s sad news. Read his reflection here. An online book of condolence, together with prayer and liturgical resources for churches may also be found here.
Processions, outdoor singing, Easter gardens, online services and a self-service feet wash were some of the ways our churches marked Easter. COVID-19 continues to impact on the way church activities are conducted, and in response church communities have continued to come up with creative ways of supporting their local areas and maintaining worship. Read more here
As we come out of the pandemic, how do we reconnect with young families, support new parents and continue contacts made at baptism and Christening services? ‘Helping young families reconnect with church’, on Wednesday, April 28 at 7.00pm, is a Zoom meeting for church leaders and those coordinating toddler groups. The Parish Giving Scheme’s new digital service offers donors a new simple and secure online method of setting up regular giving, by direct debit, via the PGS website. Our six bishops have offered a greeting to our Sikh friends and communities for this year's Vaisakhi. The full greeting can be read on our website by following the link here.
Christians from churches in Central Barnsley came together on Good Friday to walk the Way of the Cross. Members from the five churches in the Benefice of Central Barnsley were joined by the Bishop of Wakefield, the Rt Revd Tony Robinson, and the Archdeacon of Pontefract, the Ven Peter Townley as they made there way through the town centre. 'Flags of Hope', created by Yorkshire Dales crafters, now hang in St Andrew’s, Grinton for visitors to enjoy. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, owners of a Yorkshire Dales craft shop, 'The Threshing Barn', found in the village of Reeth, decided to invite local people to make the A5 pieces of artwork. Living and Learning Online
The Diocese of Leeds is planning to run digital training in 2021. We believe digital will play an important role in the life and mission of the church moving forward, and wish to equip and support our churches in this area. Please fill out our survey here to help us determine the digital training and support that would most benefit our churches and parishes.
Spiritual Direction Training will resume in September 2021 with two innovative and exciting courses designed to equip all who feel called to explore their spiritual journey and the ministry of spiritual companionship. Why not come along to our new monthly online PGS Zoom Clinics beginning on Monday, April 19 at 12 noon and repeated at 6pm? The pandemic has had a huge impact on people's wellbeing, particularly children and young people. This course on Wednesday, April 21 at 7pm looks at mental health wellbeing and how we can help be part of a support network for our children and young people. Find out more here

This Jesus Shaped People taster event on Thursday, April 22 will introduce you to the new programme which can help explore how God can use this as a 'kairos moment' to re-shape His Church. Services of Remembrance and Thanksgiving for HRH Prince Philip
Services of thanksgiving following the death of His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh are taking place across our three cathedrals on Friday, April 16, both online and in person. The services at Ripon and Bradford will be held at 6pm, with the service at Wakefield at 6.30pm. Visit their websites to find out more.

This year's annual Thy Kingdom Come 11 days of prayer, from Ascension to Pentecost, will happen from Thursday, May 13 to Sunday, May 23. A host of resources, including a webinar on this years plans, can be accessed here on the Thy Kingdom Come website.
Prayer and Liturgical resources, to commemorate The Duke of Edinburgh, have been made available for churches and schools by the Church of England. Please ensure that the Advice for Worship and Prayer guidance is read ahead of using any of these official resources and be aware that Coronavirus restrictions are still in place for acts of commemoration.
On Sunday, April 25 it is Vocations Sunday. God calls everyone. Some are called to be priests and leaders but all of us are called by God, to receive his forgiveness, to be members of Christ's body and serve him wherever we are.
