Order of Worship for Sunday, May 8
Dinner and Talk Sponsored by United Methodist Men

Everyone from BUMC is invited TONIGHT, Tuesday, May 10, 6:00 PM at Bethlehem UMC. Dinner will be provided by Farmhouse Catering (Fried Chicken). A $15 donation is suggested to help defray the cost of the meal. Our speaker will be the Retired General Galen Jackman who will talk about the details of Ronald Regan’s funeral that he oversaw. May 14 trip to see Honeybees at Pecoraros' house
There are still a few spots open for the Honeybee Field Trip to the Pecoraros’ this Saturday, May 14. Bill will show us honeycomb and tell us about the life and work of the bees who create it. The program begins at 10:00. If you want to carpool, meet at the church at 9:40. Email Ann Marie Smith or phone her at 540-871-3020, or call the church office to register. Space is limited. Bring a folding chair for your comfort.
United Women in Faith Meeting May 19
Come Join the United Women in Faith (UMW) on May 19th at 1:00 pm in the Fellowship hall as we celebrate Mother’s Day and their gifts of love. Please bring a favorite memory or memento of your mother to share. Light refreshments will be served.
United Women in Faith Collecting Items
to Support Bedford Domestic Violence Services

UMW is sponsoring a collection of items needed by the Bedford Domestic Violence Services (BDVS) which gives assistance to women and children, and sometimes men, who need to escape violent situations at home. We will have a tub in the Narthex to collect any items you would like to donate. Needs include:
  • Non-perishable items e.g., dry beans, noodles, cereal, oatmeal, peanut butter, pancake mix, syrup, jelly, cooking oil, icing, cake mix, and canned meats such as tuna, chicken, ham, Vienna sausages, corned beef hash, canned fruits and vegetables of all types, boxed juices.
  • Gift cards of $10, $15, $20 for Walmart, Food Lion, Dollar General.
  • Other items e.g., laundry detergent, fabric softener, cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, sandwich bags, trash bags.
  • Personal hygiene supplies e.g., shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste and toothbrushes, diapers, baby wipes, baby shampoo, diaper rash ointment.
  • Miscellaneous e.g., towels, wash cloths, linens, toasters, coffee makers, silverware and utensils.
The staff of BDVS thank everyone who has helped with this mission, and UMW thanks you for supporting this mission project.
Spring Fest II - Music by Sunshine
Come and enjoy our second annual outdoor concert on Saturday, May 21, from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm in the Bethlehem UMC Parking Lot. Tickets are advanced sales only and are available online at the BUMC Website or through the church office. Bring your own chair. The SML Coffeehouse Food truck will be onsite with sandwiches, pastries, and coffee for sale at the event.

Gardens are beginning to produce. If you have a garden and would like to share your bounty, you are invited to bring any excess you have, including extra plant seedlings, on Sunday mornings beginning May 22. 
Circle of Friends' leaders assembled and delivered Easter Blessing Gift Bags to shut ins and those needing extra TLC. Hope to Walk BHAG Update

Through your generosity and concern for others we have now raised $38,134 for Hope to Walk. We are close to reaching our BHAG - Big Hairy Audacious Goal of $40,000. Just think, if everyone could contribute $10 over the next month we could reach our goal! We can do this! Thanks for giving others in need the chance to walk.
UMCOR Kits for Conference

This year the United Methodist Committee on Relief will focus on collecting UMCOR Cleaning and Hygiene kits to help those in need around the world. At BUMC we will collect money to donate for the kits which are $75 for each cleaning kit and $12 for each health/hygiene kit. Please make your check to BUMC and note your donation in the memo line for UMCOR Kits. All donations are due by August 1 to send to Annual Conference.
