Core-Tech recently installed a second state-of-the-art, 3D digitizing scanner that will add to their arsenal of inspection methods to ensure quality control of the cores they produce, regardless of size or complexity. This high-resolution, optical scanner produces three-dimensional measurement data quickly and accurately to optimize the inspection process and improve manufacturing workflows. This revolutionary system utilizes “blue light technology” allowing for precise measurements to be taken independent of lighting conditions. Once scans are complete, the system can then make comparisons to the CAD drawings, verifying surface quality and integrity of the core.

The first "blue light" digital scanner was installed at Core-Tech in 2017, making Core-Tech a leader in quality control and inspection of its cores. We were the first to utilize electronic x-ray and laser gauge technologies when those options were at the forefront of inspection methods. We believe in the importance of being able to verify and measure the integrity and performance of our cores by making significant investments in cutting-edge inspection systems and technology. 3-Axis CNC System with Vision System Added to Ensure Accuracy of Core Details

Recognizing the importance of accuracy and integrity when refining the details of a core, Core-Tech invested in a 3-axis CNC machine complete with a vision system that can automatically make adjustments when deburring holes and dielines. This machine can self-adjust when it senses that a core detail may be slightly misaligned. With a 60,000 RPM spindle speed, this CNC machine is capable of very precise drilling and machining, making the final core surfaces extremely accurate and reliable. 

New Injection Press Allows for Greater Detail in Cores While Increasing Output 

Core-Tech also just installed a new, state-of-the-art injection press that is considered to be the latest in injecting molding technology. With this new press and the use of our exclusive core materials, Core-Tech can produce very detailed cores with extremely thin leading edges. This capability gives design engineers even greater freedom to develop cutting-edge core designs.

More Furnaces for More Cores! 

With all of the new equipment and technologies being utilized at Core-Tech, of course, we needed to install a few more furnaces for firing the cores. With our capacity increasing for more and better cores, we also needed to add more ovens to complete the manufacturing process. Shown here are about a dozen or so of out over three dozen furnaces that Core-Tech utilizes in our three manufacturing plants.
