Dear Covenant friends and family,
      What kind do you wear?
Brogues, clogs, espadrilles, moccasins, pumps, Birkenstocks, crocs, Adidas, Frye boots, Jellies, kitten heels, loafers, Louboutins, oxfords, saddles, sandals, cordovans, spectators, wingtips, or flip-flops?
Shoes protect our feet, give us support, and perhaps tell the world something about how we are feeling that day. We can dress our feet up or down, dress for comfort or style.
And yet, God expects that when we approach, we do so as our unadorned selves.
When Moses approached the burning bush, he was advised by the Almighty to take off his shoes, to allow nothing to come between himself and the reality of where he stood.
This week, as we continue our exploration of "Grace Anatomy: A Biblical Look at the Physical Experience," we look at these feet who carry us around, and how often the Bible makes reference to feet - foot-washing in all its contexts and even the euphemisms involving feet.
What do they tell us about bringing our truest selves to our relationship with the Holy One?
Grace and peace,
tk signature
Tracy
