Easter / Resurrection Sunday - 10am
Hallelujah! Rejoice with us Sunday morning for Easter Sunday worship! Rev. Britney Toner will lead our celebration of The Resurrection of our Savior, deliver the sermon and offer Holy Communion.
Music Minister Nellwyn Beamon, Organist Brad Norris and our choir will help us make a joyful noise unto the Lord!
Please bring fresh flowers from your gardens to adorn the Living Cross!
"We might expect that, after denying Christ, Peter would cower in shame...
Instead, when he hears the news from the women, he gets up and
runs to the tomb. When he peers into the empty tomb and sees the linen cloth,
he is filled with awe." *

Pastor's Prayer for the Week
THE POSSIBILITY PRAYER
Yes. It can happen.
Yes. It can take place.
Yes. God can do it.
After all, the angel said "Do not be afraid."
After all, the tomb was found empty.
After all, the Spirit, "will pray for you."
After all, God wants peace and reconciliation
After all, God's name is "justice."
After all, God is "liberation."
Yes. It can happen.
Yes. It can take place.
Yes. God can do it.

Good Friday Service TOMORROW
Bring someone to your Good Friday Tenebrae service which begins at 6p.m. on April 3. Our choir will sing.
The word “Tenebrae” means darkness in Latin. As our service unfolds, candles will be extinguished as we remember the final hours of Jesus’ life and the reality of his death.
On this Holy Day, our "Wandering Heart" Series will remind us to pay close attention to how Peter acts in Jesus’ final hours. So much happens in a short amount of time.
-
During the service, you will have the opportunity to visit stations for intentional engagement with Jesus' final hours.
-
Arrive early. Throughout the hour before the service, we welcome you to reflect on the Passion Story through the Stations of the Cross that will be set up around the sanctuary.

Whether you did the set-up and planning in advance, coordinated activities, stuffed or hid eggs, brought refreshments, or cleaned up, you are invaluable. This was, once again, a great outreach

Children are Always Welcome at Ghent UMC
Our Children's Church* takes place each Sunday during our worship service, following the children's message. Children ages 3 through 5th grade meet down the hall from the sanctuary for an age-appropriate Bible lesson and related craft or activity.
Children are welcome to remain in the service and utilize the activity bags in the back of the church. On Sunday, April 19th, there will be no Children's Church.
Our nursery* is available for infants to age 3 beginning at 9:50am.
Our professional workers are CPR certified, and our staff and volunteers are fully background checked.
*Children's church and nursery are optional. You are welcome to keep your child(ren) in worship with you, if you prefer. Activity bags and rockers are in the back of the sanctuary, if you wish to use them.
A baby changing station is in the lobby. Go out the swinging door to the right of our Coffee Station. The changing station is near the staircase.
