'We Are Magee' Celebrations

As a school team, we take moments each and every day to celebrate each other and our learners. We want to also take the time to celebrate our Magee families and community members. If you, your family, or learners have something they want to celebrate with the whole Magee school community, please send a picture and a description to niesjustin@kmsd.edu and we will add it to this section of the newsletter. We are excited to see and share other celebrations in our community in the weeks to come!

Weekly Message from Mr. Nies

Happy Friday Magee Families:

In November, I will be presenting our school linkage report to the Kettle Moraine School District School Board and to the community. As I work with our School Leadership team, our Citizen Magee team, and our Magee Parent Advisory to prepare for this presentation, I wanted to start sharing with you the data, which will be shared during the presentation. This week, I am sharing with you the data from our 2021-2022 School Year Spring Staff, Parent, and 4th and 5th grade Student surveys. As you look through the document, you will see many things we are able to celebrate and of course areas in which we can continue to grow. The areas of growth will be discussed with our brand new Magee Parent Advisory as well as our brand new 4th and 5th Grade Magee Student Leadership Advisory. I am hopeful that working with those two advisories will shine some light as to how we can improve in some areas of the survey.

Halloween Spirit Day at Magee

Spirit Day - Monday, October 31st, 2021:

On this day, students can dress up in their Halloween costume or if Halloween is not celebrated in your household, your child can dress up as their favorite character or inspirational person. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Similar to last school year, Ms. Pendergast, Ms. Rieck, and students have done an amazing job decorating our Butterfly Garden for Fall and Halloween. Please feel free to take pictures with your child(ren) and their friends before or after school in the Butterfly Garden on Monday, October 31st, 2022. This is a great way to to see all of the spirit day costumes and to take pictures for memories.
  • If you choose to do pictures in the butterfly garden, continue to be mindful by parking in the parking lot and safely walking to the butterfly garden.
  • Please do not send your child to school in a costume that includes:
  • fake blood
  • a costume mask
  • If a student has a mask for their costume, they will not be able to wear it all day long. Only during certain times of the day. So please remind them of this expectation.
  • and/or a weapon.
  • If a student has a toy weapon with their costume and it is brought to school, you will receive a phone call to come and get the prop.
  • Since the students get to be dressed up all day long, please make sure that the costume is something your child(ren) can wear comfortably and stay focused on their learning for the day. Also, if your child(ren) ride(s) the bus, please make sure it is a costume that comfortably fits on the bus to and from school. Being mindful that there may be three students to a seat on a bus.
  • Classrooms will have celebrations for the last hour of their day. Teachers have been reaching out to their room parents to organize what those celebrations will look like.
  • We will have an all school dance at the end of the day like we did last school year.

PICTURE RETAKE DAY!

Empire Photography will be at Magee for picture retakes on:
