MCHS Choir interviewed on The South Bay Show: Manhattan Beach 360!

Girls Varsity Soccer team continues undefeated in preseason!
Girls Varsity Soccer has started the preseason off with a bang and remain unbeaten 6-0. The girls are playing as a team and have the chemistry and drive to produce a very challenging season. Read More
Boys Soccer has success playing 3 games in a week!
The Boys’ Soccer team just finished a very busy week with 3 games and terrific results.
On Tuesday, the team travelled to St. John Bosco and won 5-1. Goal scorers were Senior Captain Robert Cook with 2, Seniors Alex deSouza and Michael Antich with 1 each, and Junior Colton Flake with 1. On Thursday they played Torrance at home and won 3-2 with goals from Juniors Pedro Rodriguez and Josh Gaudiano, and the game winner from Senior William Zhou. Read More
Girls Water Polo competes in Villa Park Tournament!
Mira Costa Varsity Girls Water Polo has started out strong over the first weeks of their season, competing in the Villa Park Tournament during their first play of the season and finishing in the top half. Mira Costa beat Santa Monica their first game 12-5. They faced two tough D1 teams with losses to Orange Lutheran and Agoura, and then lost a hard fought battle to Wilson HS in "sudden death" with a score of 13-14, finishing the tournament with a tight 5-6 loss to La Serna. Winter Concert and Jazz at the Manhattan Beach Fireworks
Sitting on the stage set up on the Manhattan Beach Pier with an incredible sunset behind them, the Jazz Band played holiday favorites for this quintessential Manhattan Beach Holiday Tradition.

The Mira Costa Bands wrapped up their year with “The Winter Concert” on Dec. 8, 2017. The concert featured performances from all of our ensembles: Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony and Jazz 1. Read More
MCHS Chamber Orchestra Update
The MCHS Chamber Orchestra played a song for the Menorah Lighting ceremony in Hermosa Beach on Sunday, December 17th.
It was a wonderful event with food and activities for families. 
Boys Varsity Wrestling places 4th at Irvine Tournament!
Our Varsity Boy’s Wrestling Team did outstanding at the Irvine Tournament on Saturday, December 10th. This isn’t a large tournament (14 teams), but the teams are all solid tough teams. The team only filled 8 weight classes and took some of their younger wrestlers to a JV tournament. Read More
Girls Wrestling takes 5th place at Girl’s Tournament of Champions!
There were 40 teams at the Girl’s Tournament of Champions, held at Cerritos College. Costa finished in 5th Place! Read More

The Frosh/Soph JV and Varsity team have been playing in both high school games and competitive tournaments throughout December.
The Frosh/Soph team is off to a great start this season. They have played great against tough competition in two high level tournaments and have won their three non-tournament games so far.
The JV team will be hosting the JV Winter Classic Basketball Tournament December 27-30 at Fisher Gym. Read More

Costa Surf is undefeated
Mira Costa Surf continued their winning streak this week beating PV 86-61!
The conditions were extremely challenging, however both the boys and girls teams dominated the contest.
Mira Costa Model United Nations hosts LAIMUN XXIII
Mira Costa Model United Nations hosted LAIMUN XXIII at Mira Costa on December 2nd and 3rd. Over 1,200 students from Southern California participated in the debate in committees ranging from Security Councils to the General Assembly. The conference was fully student-organized and run. Unique international topics were debated, such as “utilizing technology to meet the growing demand for energy,” and “antimicrobial resistance in food and agriculture." Read More
Costa Boys and Girls Rugby Teams updates!
The Mira Costa Boys Rugby Team is proud to announce the 2018 Captains: Team Captain, Jonah Tavai; Forwards Captain Rob Fiene; Backs Captain Kaden Loversky. Jonah is a 4 year starter and one of the top 5 players in the nation. The 2018 team has their work cut out for them as they graduated 13 of the 15 starters from last year’s So Cal semi-final team . On Tuesday, Dec. 5th, Mira Costa’s Drama/
Tech Dept. held its annual Holiday Benefit show. Students performed holiday songs, dances, and short scenes in a night filled with talent and good cheer. Proceeds from the show were used to benefit Drama/Tech’s Adopt-A-Family. Read More
