A Note from our Executive Director
I hope you are enjoying a beautiful Napa Valley summer. We have had such fun hosting a variety of camps and programs this summer. Next year we will expand again to offer more, more, more!

The Napa Valley Grape Growers "Fields of Opportunity" program and the "Resorting to Opportunity" program collectively hosted more than 30 high school students in a rotating program that provides experiences throughout the vineyard and winery industries (Fields) and resort, hotel and food service industries (Resorting). It is a great exposure to potential career paths, and our Job Coach provides weekly trainings and on-site visits to help students learn important workplace etiquette, interviewing skills, money management, resume writing and more.
Our Music Connection program has hosted nearly 100 musicians and aspiring actors in Summer Strings, Summer Band and Summer Musical camps this year. The Cinderella musical was outstanding, under the leadership of Napa High's Patty Profitt as Director. Our partners at Festival Napa Valley, Napa Valley Community Foundation and Notes for Education have been "instrumental" in helping us make these music camps happen - a big thank you to them all!!
Enjoy your summer and thank you for supporting public education and NVEF!

Business Partner Testimonial:
Van Pelt Construction Services
"To many of us, our day to day interactions with the District feel like business. With that said, it is important to remember that NVUSD's primary function is to educate and support young people. As our involvement is almost always on the construction/business side, VPCS loves to get an opportunity to directly support students and teachers through the powerful work of the Napa Valley Education Foundation.  Our work with NVUSD on the Measure H bond program gives us a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in our own backyard. While VPCS has job trailers sprinkled throughout California, we carry out our Napa assignment just minutes from our company headquarters in Fairfield. We work with local architects and subcontractors with whom we’ve established strong professional relationships over the years. Being local didn’t get us this assignment, but it certainly helps solidify the connections that will be forged over the next few years among members of the project team, the district and the community."- Kelli Jurgenson

"As a company we conduct business with automotive dealerships all across the United States. However, our home is in Napa and has been for 30 years. This is where we live, work, and raise our families. The reason for our contribution to the NVEF is simple; we believe that supporting Napa youth is vital to the success of our community. Thank you Napa Valley Education Foundation for your amazing efforts!"- Jacqueline Swank
