SINCE FUN IN THE SUN IS COMING

Below are important reminders:

Your mental health is still important during these summer months! Please remember to continue to prioritize your sessions and speak with your clinicians about any session schedule changes.

Please remember that all sessions must be conducted in a private and secure space. You must be in a space with a closed door (if other people are in your home or workplace), no distractions (tv on, barking dogs, ringing phones, etc.), and you must be the only person in your space. Please also make sure to log on within 5 minutes of your appointment time.

We respect your confidentiality and value your session time!

Appointments must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid the $180 no-show fee.

Please also remember that copays, co-insurance, and deductibles are due at the time of serviceWe look forward to seeing you!

The Power of Checking In

Who have you checked on recently?

As all our lives continue to move on and get busy, do you remember the last time you checked on your friends or family? When was the last time someone checked on you? Well, if you didn't know, social support plays a significant role in maintaining positive mental health outcomes.

Although it may seem small, those little “just checking in” calls, texts, or emails have a life-saving effect. Not only does a simple check-in let someone know they have support, but it also serves as an early intervention tool. By addressing problem behaviors early many individuals are able to secure the resources they need to improve their functioning.

So, how can you check in on someone? Below are a few simple tips:

1.     Provide direct inquiry by asking open-ended questions. Below are some examples:

“How are you feeling today?” “I wanted to see how I can support you” “I’m thinking of you, how is…” “I’m here to listen” “Just a quick reminder that you are loved” “How are you managing everything?”

2.   Pause and listen for the answer. By taking a pause, you provide space for an individual to share their response. While it can be uncomfortable to wait, you have to remind yourself that you don’t have to have the solution to every problem. Instead, you need to be a good listener and acknowledge when what you have heard is concerning or needs an elevated level of support.

3.   Follow up: Don’t be afraid to keep reaching out and remember staying engaged keeps you informed.

As we move through our busy lives, remember that social support is a powerful tool in promoting positive mental health outcomes.

Meet Ms. Mara

We are excited to introduce our new clinician, Ms. Mara Egorin-Williams!

Ms. Mara will be starting with Respire on June 6th. Please read below for a special message from Ms. Mara:

I am excited to join the Respire Behavioral Health community. I have been working with students and families in the mental health field for 25 years. Those years have included experience as a special educator as well as over 19 years as a school psychologist. Students' and families’ mental health and learning needs, as well as equity and social justice for all students, are the things that I am most passionate about. As a therapist at Respire, I will continue the work of providing a supportive, safe space to grow and learn ways to increase positive mental health and healing in others.

I look forward to working with you and your families.  When I am not spending time with my family, including my 2 daughters and my 2 loveable and needy dogs, I will be committed to serving you.

In good health,

Mara Egorin-Williams
