Engineering, Design & Technology Academy Students Switch It Up

Sonoma Valley High's Engineering, Design & Technology seniors, led by teacher Tom Edwards, are currently working on their Switch vehicle. Created by Switch Lab of Sebastopol, the Switch Car is an electric vehicle that comes in a kit with all of the components and instructional materials necessary for students to build it. One of only two Sonoma County schools selected to receive a Switch Car in 2018, the EDT Academy class spent the second semester building the car, and it's almost ready for its first test drive! In the fall, next year's class will begin their semester by dismantling the car and rebuilding it in the spring.

SVEF is a proud supporter of the EDT Academy at SVHS, which provides an integrated educational pathway to career success in a variety of STEM fields.

“Never fear to make mistakes; be courageous enough not to repeat it.”

We'd like to take that advice as we correct an error in our last newsletter. While congratulating Ava Rognlien on her recent Community Youth Service Award, we unfortunately misspelled her name in the process. We regret the error. So sorry, Ava! This does, however, give us another opportunity to say congratulations on this amazing achievement! SVEF is proud of you, Ava Rognlien!
