New Worship Series: To Be Or Not To Be The Church:
Church is not a place you go, it’s something you are and something you do. Encounters with Jesus change people, not just for a moment, but by transforming us into something new. But we are not new by ourselves! We become new as part of a community, the church, held together and sent out by the Holy Spirit to introduce more people to the transformative Jesus! To be the church is to do God’s mission in the world.

Larry Vanella, 62, actor and stage manager, formerly of Madison
Actor and community stage manager Larry Vanella’s love of life didn’t come to an end with his death. Larry passed away on Wednesday, April 13, at the age of 62, after a courageous battle with multiple health concerns, loved and cared for by loving friends and family, who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Larry attended Montclair State University, studying theater arts. He spent his high school, college and adult years pursuing his love of theater, family and friends.
His pleasant personality was contagious to everyone.
He is survived by his brothers, Stanley, age 60, and Daryl, age 59; his best friend and fourth brother, Michael Paul; and the many others who loved him.
Larry’s memorial service will be held at the Madison United Methodist Church, located at 24 Madison Ave. in Madison, on Friday, May 20, at 10 a.m.
(Larry's mother was Harriet Vanella, a longtime member of UMC Madison)

REV. MARK SCHOL'S FIRST WORSHIP SERVICE - Sunday, July 3rd
Please join us to hear Pastor Mark preach his first sermon to our congregation. Since this is a holiday weekend, we decided to postpone the luncheon to welcome Pastor Mark and his family until Rally Sunday. However, we are planning to have an expanded coffee hour so those in attendance will have an opportunity to gather and get to know Pastor Mark and his family.
| |
SMALL GROUP MEETINGS WITH PASTOR MARK
Starting in July, there will be a number of small group meetings so members can continue to get to know Pastor Mark. Stay tuned for more information about hosting and/or attending these meetings.
