Prayer Requests
We express sympathy to the family of Joyce Mills in her passing on Sunday evening. Her funeral will be at Southern Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, June 11. The visitation will be at 1 PM and the funeral at 2 PM. The graveside service will follow. After the graveside service, there will be a meal for the family at Vaughn Park Church. If you would like to donate to the cost of the meal, please mark them as “funeral meal” and give your donations to an Elder, Minister or office staff.
We express sympathy to the family of Phil Hardy. Phil passed away Sunday night. His funeral will be at University Church on Sunday at 2PM.
Shut-Ins
- Betty Brown is sleeping a good bit. She is about the same.
- Sara Gafford is in room 304 at Encompass Rehab.
- Sandra Hamilton welcomed her new granddaughter in the world on Tuesday, June 7.
- Ann Pascal saw her cardiologist yesterday. She is struggling with the loss of her husband, Rick.
- Doris Sullivan is doing well.
Member's Needs
- Dale Gentry’s knee surgery on Wednesday morning to repair a ruptured bursa went well. He spent the night in the hospital to receive I V antibiotics.
- Steve Martin will have surgery at Baptist South to clear a blocked carotid artery on June 24.
- Neal Batchelor’s blood sugar numbers have improved, and he is feeling better.
- Marc Stauch is seeing doctors this week about the fluid on his feet, his heart, and kidneys.
- Roxy Wishum is feeling better. He is not having to be on oxygen all the time. Medicines seem to have helped.
- Martha Keel is now off her feeding tube. She is slowly improving.
- David Jones is attempting to get an appointment with a doctor to try to remedy the fluid buildup on his brain. It is hard for David to get around. He has headaches.
- Celie Robinson will have an endoscopy on June 13 to see what is causing her stomach issues.
- Marlene Word is struggling with an eye issue and sought help in Birmingham.
- Mike Kirkland went to Baptist South on June 7 because of severe back pain. It was determined that Mike has degenerative lumbar discs.
- Carrie Springer has Covid-19 and is pretty sick.
- Frank Potts’ cousin, Harold Crump’s great grandson, Porter is struggling after having a brain tumor removed.
- Paul Scott’s friend, Buddy Sikes, is struggling with side effects from the medication his taking. He is experiencing severe anxiety.
- Debbie Scott’s nephew, Don Harp, completed his fifth round of chemotherapy for brain and heart cancer. He has now been admitted to Emory Hospital.
