All Church Mini-Retreat at Camp New Hope
Saturday, May 15, 9:00am -12:00 noon
Theme: “One Anothering: Century 1 and Century 21”
What does it mean to be the beloved community that God desires In the 21st century? What can we learn from Jesus and from the 1st century church about building ”one another”? We'll explore these ideas at the All Church Mini-Retreat on Saturday, May 15, 9:00-12:00, at Camp New Hope. Join us for a fun gathering for all ages that will include games, crafts, and interactive worship in a lovely outdoor setting. Box lunch and hike options are available for the afternoon. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy some good old-fashioned – and long overdue – fellowship with your WPC family!
Asking the Hard Questions in Worship

Are there questions about life to which you’d like a faith-full answer? Do you have a theological doubt you'd like to explore? Is there a passage in the Bible you’re itching to understand better? Help shape our worship this summer by sharing your questions with our pastors! Send your suggestions, ideas, or questions by Sunday, May 16. The pastors will choose from the submissions for a summer sermon series. No names will be attached to the questions chosen, so send in something fun!
Pop-Up Service Opportunity: Helping Hand Bags for the Homeless

The Bryan family, in conjunction with the Local Missions Committee, has assembled more than 100 “helping hand” bags with beneficial items for the homeless to keep in your car and hand out when you are at a stoplight or wherever appropriate. They include a few snacks, a bottle of water, a flyer with information on local support services, and other small items in a sealed plastic bag. Please sign up below for the number of bags you’d like to get. UPDATE: Only 22 bags were picked up last Sunday, so there are plenty of bags ready to be distributed. If you were unable to pick up bags last Sunday, feel free to come by and pick them up this Sunday, May 9, between 2:00-5:00pm. You may also pick up bags on Sunday, May 16, from 9:30am-2:00pm. We appreciate your support of this important mission and need in the community!
Aperture, May 19, at 7:00pm
Dessert First: Sharing Stories, Struggles, and Experiencing God in Grief with Rev. J. Dana Trent, May 19 at 7:00pm via Zoom

As we continue to move into what experts are calling a “pandemic of grief,” how will we cope with long-term actualized and anticipatory loss? How do we sweeten up tough conversations? How, where, and when do we remain open to noticing God’s presence? In our May Aperture series, the Rev. J. Dana Trent will equip us with practical tools to help us better care for ourselves and those whom we serve.
RESCHEDULED: Movie Night in the Courtyard!

The Fellowship Committee invites you to bring a lawn chair and watch the movie "Up!" in the Courtyard with your WPC friends. Bring everyone in your household on Friday, May 21, at 8:00pm, and come enjoy the night air and a delightful movie. "Up!" is rated G for general audiences. UPDATE:  You can bring movie snacks to enjoy with your family due to relaxed COVID-19 restrictions. Yay!

Race to Win the CROP Walk Golden Sneaker!

Thanks to everyone who has donated to CROP Walk! As of this writing, Blacknall Presbyterian is edging Westminster out of the running for the “Golden Sneaker,” a fundraising award we’ve received for years. Can you give to help us win the race and beat Blacknall? This friendly competition will help raise even more funds to fight hunger locally and globally!
