Hedgerow Helpers Needed!
February 7th, 2022
|
VCRCD has recently planted 2 hedgerows alongside native willow windrows on an organic avocado farm alongside a wildlife corridor. These hedgerows are all California native plants that need help outcompeting the weeds. VCRCD is currently implementing their monitoring plan to document the influx of species we hope to see benefitting from the added food resources and habitat provided by the hedgerows.

Caprinteria Creek Monarch Restoration Planting Day!
February 12th, 2022
|
We are looking for all and ANY helping hands to plant essential pollinator and nectar resources (shrubs, small plants, etc.) at Carpinteria Creek. The event will be outdoors in a large open space, socially distant of course. Face masks required. We will provide all the necessary tools and equipment. We will have plenty of work this time, so please be sure to pack lunch and water, and wear closed toed shoes.

Agricultural Conservation Specialist
The Agricultural Specialist will use their academic and working background in agronomy, crop science, natural resource conservation, and environmental science to assist landowners in areas such as irrigation and nutrient management, soil health and climate resilience, and the implementation of cropland and rangeland stewardship practices.
|
|
Conservation Education & Outreach Coordinator
The Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the District's environmental education and outreach roles on current and future projects. This position will work with the public, environmental organizations, schools, municipalities, and agencies to promote the RCD and develop educational-based partnerships and future funding opportunities.
|
|
VCRCD Is A Technical Service Provider for CDFA SWEEP!
(State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program)
|
This program is now open and provides cost-share to farmers and ranchers to invest in irrigation systems that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and on farm water-use. As technical service providers, VCRCD will provide application and post project implementation assistance for FREE.
