| | We had a successful Book and Plant Sale on June 6th. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers and everyone who stopped by and found something to take home. We raised just over $1800, all of which will help pay for new books and library supplies. It was a great day! | | | | The year is 1865. Tom and his reluctant son, Liam, are working for the great Ordnance Survey project to map the whole of Ireland--a country recently ravaged and emptied by the Great Hunger. Tom, however, is determined that his maps will be a record of the disaster. | | A traditional American woman, a beautiful wife and mother who sells her pioneer lifestyle of raw milk and farm-fresh eggs to her millions of social media followers, suddenly awakens cold, filthy, and terrified in the brutal reality of 1855--where she must unravel whether this living nightmare is an elaborate hoax, a twisted reality show, or something far more | | Mister Wonder follows Artie Dam, a dedicated high school history teacher whose life is transformed by a shocking revelation. Forced to reevaluate his relationships and identity, Artie embarks on a moving journey of self-discovery, change, and acceptance. | | A novel about two trailblazing women on opposite sides of the law--a prosecutor and a madam--who team up to bring down notorious gangster Lucky Luciano. | | During a cozy Christmas in Millers Kill, Reverend Clare Fergusson and her husband Russ expect peace with their new baby until a holiday parade is shattered by white supremacists. Drawn into a dangerous web of extremism and murder, they must confront violence threatening their community. | | As Dunham takes us through her journey, tracking her rise to fame--from selling the pilot of Girls to the present--in three acts, it becomes clear that the spotlight casts long shadows, distorting the relationships she once held dear and isolating everyone in its glare. | | When Homa, a girl from her childhood, reappears in her privileged world, Ellie, amidst Iran's political turmoil, joins her in pursuing their goals for meaningful futures until one earth-shattering betrayal has far-reaching consequences, altering the course of both their lives. | | In March 2020, Belle Burden was safe and secure with her family at their house on Martha’s Vineyard, navigating the early days of the pandemic together—building fires in the late afternoons, drinking whisky sours, making roast chicken. Then, with no warning or explanation, her husband of twenty years announced that he was leaving her. | | A writer travels to Providence to interview his aging mentor, Thomas, but the visit evolves into a deeper reflection on the complicated relationships between Thomas, his son Max, and the narrator. Through their intertwined lives, the novel explores themes of fatherhood, friendship, rivalry, and what it means to raise children in an uncertain world. | | To see other books in our catalog, visit our website and click on the "Find a Book" tab. | | Tuesdays, June 23 - July 28 | This program was made possible by a grant from the Davis Family Foundation. | Our Story Hour for pre-schoolers will continue, as usual, throughout the summer. Every Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30, Claire Steeves reads a story and introduces the children to a fun, creative activity, a little music, and movement. Check out What’s Happening or the Events Calendar on our website, or our Facebook page for weekly updates. | |
