Strategic Planning Kickoff Meeting

On Friday, April 28, 2023, activities will begin that are aimed at developing a new strategic plan for Southern State Community College, 2023-2025. In this initial meeting, our college community, that's YOU, and invited stakeholders are encouraged to join in Establishing the Foundation exercise. This will include large and small group activities with emphasis on:

  1. Historical milestones which have shaped the institution
  2. Exploration of “What’s Working/Not Working”
  3. Identifying Strengths, Problems, Opportunities, and Threats

During the day-long planning exercise the work will be guided by master facilitator and strategic consultant, Dr. Rick Gregory. For those who have been around the institution for a while, you may recall working with him in 2010. His energy, insights, and ability to help teams transform ideas into action is well-suited for SSCC in this moment.

While attendance is not mandatory, this is the single large-scale open meeting for broader college community. If you have ideas or points that you have wanted to share or generally want to be a part of planning SSCC's future priorities, this is the meeting to attend. Plan to think deeply, participate fully, and have some fun in the process.

There will be coffee, drinks and snacks available throughout the day along with a hearty lunch. For planning purposes, please accept or decline the invitation that was emailed to you on March 24 so that we can keep an accurate count for food. If you are unable to attend this day, but would have interest in being a part of future activities, please include that in your reply. You may also email Robin at rtholen@sscc.edu. Please respond no later than April 10, 2023
