Holiday preparations are in full swing at both campuses. A lot is going on and there are many opportunities to get involved.
Dr. Jeff Montgomery, Central Campus Director and Dean of Academic Affairs, joining in on the fun as the campus decorates for the holidays!
Tyler Bick, Technology Coordinator, braves the giant ladder to place ornaments on the Central Campus Christmas tree.
The Brown County Campus Christmas tree is decorated with handmade ornaments highlighting the College's different programs, classes, and services offered.

A special shoutout goes to Betty Cole as the maker of the ornaments.
Community Christmas Giving Tree
In partnership with the Highland County Community Action (HCCA) Community Christmas program, we are collecting kid size gloves, hats, and socks. The Giving Tree is set up in the lobby at Central Campus.

If you want to donate:
  • take a tag off of the tree,
  • bring in an unwrapped gift,
  • place in the marked box on the table.

The gifts will be delivered to Community Action on December 5. HCCA will distribute the gifts to local children in need.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Shred-it will be at Central Campus
Shred-it is scheduled to be at the Central Campus this month. All boxes need to be moved to the back of room 402 no later than December 6, 2023.

Items to shred do not need to be in a banker or paper box; however, the boxes should remain approximately that size. If your department will have trouble meeting the December 6 deadline to move your boxes, please call or email Darlene Thacker (Ext. 2520).

If you have questions, please reach out to Darlene or Dawn Bell (Ext. 2653).
PN Program Graduation Pinning Ceremony
On Thursday, December 7, the Practical Nursing program will recognize their graduates during a pinning ceremony.

The festivities will kick off at 7 p.m. in the Patriot Center on the Central Campus.

You are invited to attend this event as we recognize and honor these students who have worked hard to achieve their goals.

Bits & Pieces

Don't forget to update your contact information in SSCC Alerts. With the weather changing, you will want to make sure you receive notifications about campus delays and snow closures. Notifications will no longer be provided on TV/radio stations for SSCC. With the automated alert service, it is the responsibility of all SSCC employees to provide a current phone number and/or email address for notification purposes. You may also visit the SSCC official website and social media sites (Facebook and Twitter) for updates.

Please remember if there is a weather-related closure, it is important to refrain from coming to campus. Everyone’s cooperation will enhance personal safety. It also assists our maintenance personnel immensely when they can clear walks, drives, and parking lots without obstacles.

Also, please log in to MyEconnect and verify that your mailing address, email, phone, and emergency contact information is up to date to ensure you receive important information regarding tax documents and other important communications too.
