Vacation Home Check
Heading out of town for the holidays? We're here to help make sure you enjoy your trip and don't have to worry about your home.

Just call on the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol Program, a group of volunteers through Anaheim Police, and sign up for a vacation check. These trained volunteers will perform a thorough inspection of your property while you are away.

Vacation checks include a perimeter check, physical and/or visual check of all doors and windows, verification of vehicles left on the property and verification of any people found on the property. If something appears suspicious, they'll call for a police officer.

To take advantage of this free service, complete a Vacation House Check Application and return it to the Anaheim Police Department. You can also call (714) 765-1987 or RSVP@anaheim.net.
Avoid Holiday Scammers
The holidays are one of the happiest times of the year, but there are always those that are out to ruin the celebration.

The holiday season usually brings an increase in scam calls to Anaheim residents. These callers often pretend to work for Anaheim Public Utilities, asking for urgent payment or threatening to turn off your power.

If something sounds off, don’t buy it. We’ll never call you demanding immediate payment and we don’t accept prepaid cards or solicit payment in person.

You can always call us at (714) 765-4311 to verify any phone call you think might be fraudulent.

Anaheim Shelter Plan
Salvation Army to build 600 bed homeless service center
Since we launched our initiative to address homelessness in 2014, we've helped more than 2,000 people off the streets and onto a pathway out of homelessness.

Last year, we increased our efforts and build three new homeless shelters in our city, allowing us to restore parks, streets and neighborhoods in time for the holidays.

But we know there is more work to be done.

We are working with The Salvation Army on our next step, building the Center of Hope homeless service center.

Things are moving along and we expect to see this come before the City Council next year.

For more on our efforts, visit Anaheim.net/homeless.
